INANBIMALI: BIBLE LESSONS INTERRUPTED BY DEATH AND OPPOSITION

Nina and Brooks, Courtney and Tim, and Tara and Tony are glad to have believers praying for them.

March 10, 2008

by Patrick Hatcher

The Inanbimali people of Papua New Guinea are dealing with many interruptions to the evangelistic Bible lessons that started over three weeks ago.

When Tino, a tribal chief, died unexpectedly, the teaching stopped for a few days to honor and mourn his passing. About two weeks later, Leo, another tribal chief, also died. Along with the second death came a second pause in teaching.

During the second mourning period for Leo's death, it was reported that a spirit spoke through a woman as she slept. That report proved to be nothing more than a prank set up by people in the village who are against the Bible teaching.

As missionaries Brooks Buser, Tim Shontere and Tony Sutton continue teaching, please pray that God would give them wisdom to deal with the distractions and the strength to present the Gospel clearly.

In light of all the victories and losses during this time of evangelistic Bible teaching Brooks wrote , "The one constant is God, and our prayers and petitions for His strength and power to move in these situations. Keep up the good work -- we are so very happy to have you standing with us in all of this."
